INDUSTRY STANDARD PAY

IT’S BAAACK!
PROMISES, PROMISES, PROMISES

Have you noticed all the nice talk that has been coming from Management lately? It must be Christmas. Just a few short weeks ago our CEO, Richard Anderson, stated that there would be a review of pay sometime in the summer. Now, all of a sudden, the review of “industry standard pay” will be done much sooner, in March.

Why the rush? Do you think that all the union activity had anything to do with their reassessment of the rushed timetable? We who have been active in the unionization effort welcome any talk about pay restoration (pay increases happen when we receive and exceed our lost 20%!) As a matter of fact, since the Company is now willing to talk about fair pay, why don’t we just all sit down and hammer out the agreement — then while we are at it, sign a union contract!

We are not going away and we can’t be bought off. We plan on restoring our dignity as well as our pay and safety-net through enhancing our benefit package. We also insist on upgrading the experience our customers receive at Delta. The product we have been providing is not up to standard and it is our resolve to rectify that embarrassment through refining our professionalism through organizing.

To our new-hire friends who have not yet involved yourselves in this union campaign. We hear constantly from you that “Delta has been good to us”, “just be thankful that we have a job.” You actually sound like an abused spouse who takes a beating all month long and says nothing because the abuser pays the bills at month’s end. Enough already!

We have the worst health safety net in the industry; sick time that doesn’t even cover a bad cold; healthcare costs that are bankrupting many employees; and no protection from unfair disciplinary action. We deserve better!

It’s time to sign those IAM authorization cards and face down those who would grow rich off of our lack of spine. Time to win, time to man up!
