DELTA’S ‘FIT’ TEAMS FULL OF IT!
SENIORITY INTEGRATION TEAMS SPREADING CONFUSION AND HAVOC
WORDS ARE MEANT TO DIVIDE AND CONQUER UNITY OF EMPLOYEES
The worst thing about being given the illusion of power and poor direction is that well intentioned individuals can cause more anger and confusion than is good for all.
The frontline involvement teams or ‘F.I.T.’ as they are called are nothing more than puppets and happy faces with limited abilities and absolutely no real power which have been tasked to do nothing more than upset hard working Delta and Northwest employees.
These 14 or 15 ‘parrots’ are given talking points by their outsider management handlers and are sent to ‘discover’ what kind of face the integration of seniority will have once our two carriers combine into a single entity under one certificate.
Here’s the irony of it all; they will not come to any legally binding conclusion and Delta knows this. The Northwest employees who are union (all of them!) have contracts that stipulate exactly what their seniority means and is worth.
As we have told you in previous blogs; Delta management dictates what we have seniority wise and how it is to be administered. Everything coming from the F.I.T. team that is divisive and confusing originates from Delta. This outsider management team wants young employees to be envious of older employees; they want contention between cities and regions. They absolutely count on Northwest and Delta employees to be suspicious and at each others’ throats.
This kind of manufactured dissention only serves to divide our unified stand to unionize and respect each others years of service. The IAM has steadfastly confirmed and stipulated that ‘date of hire’ will determine ones seniority.
When the F.I.T. team visits your city and tells you that one region of the Country wants a certain gradual phase in of Northwest seniority; this is a ruse designed to foment anger and divide us. It is not going to work and ultimately when the election is over and a determination has been made to be union or to not be union, whatever the outcome, Delta will not risk having an airline implode by denying one group their rightful years of service.
It simply won’t happen!
Those with little seniority are being fooled by the idea of being able to ‘pancake’ on top of a higher seniority employee. Not even the outsider Delta management team is dumb enough to do that. This new airline will tear itself apart if Delta is stupid enough to even go down that road.
So why is Delta sending their puppets out to say such things? Well, have you noticed that not enough senior people took the early out and Delta had to extend the deadline? They need more of us gone; especially the older more union oriented employees in order to win an election that most probably will be close.
Scaring older employees by insinuating that their years of service might be reduced by some vague formula is a way of suggesting to senior people it is time to go. It won’t work!
Keep the faith, stay united and know your 'date of hire' under the blanket of the IAM will be protected and honored.
