Delta’s Principles on Union Representation
IAM Hotline Message of the Week
Dial (800) 392-6554

Delta Air Lines has recently posted on their website, The Delta Net, a policy entitled, “Delta’s Principles on Union Representation.” The managers also have a similar post card size version in their possession.

In their own words, Delta states, “We encourage all Delta and Northwest people to have an open mind and get the facts before forming an opinion on an issue that will profoundly affect their future careers.”

On this issue we couldn’t agree more!

In Delta’s own words they seem to be saying….
· They want you to learn about the advantages of being Union.
· They want you to know about the security of having a written contract.
· They want you to know that you can have a growing and guaranteed pension that adds to your frozen Delta plan.
· They want you to know you can gain job security with work that can’t be taken away on a whim.
· They want you to know you can have defined pay and even profit sharing that is part of a contract.
· They want you to know Delta can even be a better place to work with a Union contract.

Or do they???

Take the IAM literature from an IAM organizer. If and when your supervisor or performance lead asks about that literature, refer them to Delta’s policy and show them the bulletin if you have a copy. After all, they should honor Delta’s own written policy! They should support your right to know everything about the choice that truly will affect your future.

To do otherwise would be a violation of Delta’s own policy!

Now, more than ever, it is important that we have Delta and Northwest employees’ email and mailing addresses. To our Delta friends, know that you are now empowered to take and read Union literature without reprisal.

Remember … Your Future is in Your Hands.
