Will Delta Bend to the Pressure?

There are rumors flying that Delta is considering changing benefits. Management has looked around the industry and they have seen Delta employees are woefully behind other airlines in many areas. Some talk has leaked that we may see some improvement in sick-time pay and maybe even health care.

Our constant talk of the union and the progress in our campaign keeps the pressure on management to up the ante and try to match what the union airline workers get. This is good news.

Will these much needed and well deserved improvements become reality? Only time will tell. After all, we are at the whim of management right now so we can only rely on the standard of the rest of the union industry and the progress of our campaign.

Will the improvements be enough? Probably not; but we can rest assured that management will put on a campaign of their own to show their benevolence and what good hearted people they are. Don’t be fooled!

Will they be guaranteed? Absolutely not! The only way to assure we get better pay and benefits and to have the peace of mind that they are secure is to have a contract. The only way to have a contract is to be union. And, of course, the only way to be union is to sign an IAM card and have an election.

Will these improvements come? Who knows — it is only rumor.

Should they come? Yes!

Can we make a difference? Absolutely…only if we are Union!
