LEADERS LINING THEIR OWN POCKETS

You’ve been offered early out programs. Why? They want the best and brightest to leave and take a pittance of money to walk away so that there is no memory of the past. I, for one, will not leave. Our customers deserve better and our future depends on our resilience and determination to be on property and continue offering quality product to our loyal customers.

God bless all of you that have decided to stay and fight the good fight. Those of you who have resisted the call to arms over the union campaign; I say to you, I understand your resistance but now is the time to take sides and be relevant.

Our bosses are new and don’t know any of us. They have heard about our loyalty to Delta and have decided to play us for our current perceived ignorance. Don’t let them under estimate you or your knowledge.

In the next few days things will happen that none of us have any control over precisely because we have no representation; no union. All of us are vulnerable because we have allowed management to lull us into a false sense of security.

It’s time to take a stand. It’s time to voice an opinion. Why do you think that Delta decided to forgo the July 1 raises? They knew that a merger was just around the corner and they didn’t want to have to give the union members at Northwest the same pay adjustments.

If we all come together as one, no one will be able to stop our progress. I encourage all of us to become aware of the upcoming events and prepare ourselves for battle and ultimate success.

Please become active and understand that if you speak out, you become your own best advocate. IAM plans to win this campaign of will and ideas. Come join us and help make a difference in your work and your family’s future.
